Emergency Shelters for Nepal

More than one million people lost their homes in the Nepal earthquakes!

Some of the hardest hit areas in the deadly earthquakes that hit Nepal on April 25th and May 12th were the mountainside villages outside of the main population centers. Eden Reforestation Projects stands ready to help these remote villages.

With the July – September rainy season approaching, what the people desperately need right now are transitional shelters to keep them and their meager possessions out of the rain during the rebuilding phase.

$10 for An Emergency Shelter

It only takes $10 to provide a shelter like the one shown in the photo below.

Eden’s goal is to raise a minimum of $5,000 for 500 emergency shelter tents. No, the tents aren’t fancy or permanent, but they will address the immediate needs of families whose lives are in turmoil.

Eden has reliable leaders on the ground in Nepal ready to deliver the tents to one or more of the mountainside villages that were wiped out by the earthquakes.

If you would like to help, simply click here, and make your donation right away! One hundred percent of your donation will be used for the purchase of the tents.

After you make the donation, please consider sharing this request with your online network on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.  Working together we can make a positive difference as Nepal rebuilds!

Eden Update:
Although the situation in Nepal is dire, we want to share a bit of good news with you. Eden’s reforestation nurseries and nursery workers were minimally affected by the quakes and we are on schedule to plant 600,000 reforestation and agroforestry seedlings at the onset of the rainy season. Our employees will have much needed jobs at this difficult time and the trees they plant will be the first ones planted in Nepal by The Eden Projects.

Planting Trees and Saving Lives is what we do. Thank you for partnering with us.
