Country Director of Brazil

James Tiburcio is a leader in sustainable development, governance, and food security, specializing in community-led restoration and environmental policy initiatives. His extensive background encompasses research and practical applications in public policy, agroecology, and ecosystem restoration. James is adept at fostering sustainable livelihoods and addressing food insecurity, drawing from over 15 years of leadership and teaching experience across Southeast Asia and Brazil.

Since 2021, James has been making significant strides as the Country Director in Brazil. He is deeply invested in providing leadership to local communities for conservation and environmental restoration projects. Under his guidance as the Country Director, James has successfully expanded the reach of sustainable practices, integrating restoration techniques with traditional knowledge to enhance the effectiveness of Eden-led projects.

James holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development from the Universidade de Brasília, a master's in international relations, and a bachelor's in economics. He also completed a post-doctoral internship as a visiting researcher at the Azim Premji University, Bangalore, India.
